Want That Campsite? Here’s How Site Lock Works
You found the perfect spot. Maybe it’s close to the pool. Maybe it’s near your friends. Maybe you looked at the map for 20 minutes and have now formed an emotional attachment to Site #47.
We get it.
When you book a stay at Jellystone Park™ Watts Bar Lake, your reservation guarantees the site type or cabin type and amenities you selected, but it does not automatically guarantee the exact site or cabin number you picked.
That’s where Site Lock comes in.
What Is Site Lock?
Site Lock is an optional $35 fee available during checkout that locks in the specific campsite or cabin you selected when making your reservation.
Without Site Lock, our reservation system may move your reservation to another accommodation within the same site or cabin type as we optimize reservations.
Translation: You’ll still get what you booked. You just might get a different number.
For example, if you reserve a particular RV site type, you’ll still receive that same type of RV site and its associated amenities. If you book a certain cabin category, you’ll still stay in that cabin category. The exact location simply isn’t guaranteed unless you lock it.
When Should I Add Site Lock?
Site Lock is probably worth considering if you have your heart set on a particular spot.
Maybe you’re:
- Camping next to friends or family
- Eyeing a specific location within the park
- Returning to a favorite site or cabin
- Trying to stay close to certain amenities
- Just very committed to the spot you picked, and honestly, we respect it
If the exact location isn’t important to you, you can skip the fee and let our reservation system work its magic.
How Do I Add It?
Easy.
During the booking process, you’ll see a “Lock Your Site Location?” option during checkout. Select “Yes, Pay Lock Fee” to add Site Lock to your reservation for $35.
If you select “No Thanks,” your reservation is still confirmed for the site or cabin type you chose. Just remember that the exact site or cabin location may change before your stay.
The Short Version
No Site Lock: Your site or cabin type and amenities are guaranteed, but the exact location may change.
With Site Lock: Your specific selected site or cabin is locked in for an additional $35.
So if you’ve already mentally moved into that campsite, picked where the chairs are going, and decided which direction the s’mores station will face, Site Lock might be the move.
